Mrs Conley brough her tortoise in from home to show the nursery children. We all enjoyed holding and stroking him!
Easter 2024
Today we had a surprise visit from the Easter bunny! He also delivered gifts to all the school! Thank you to our PTFA for organising and funding the gifts and visit. We hope all our families have a lovely Easter break.
Year 1 Smoothie Making
Year 1 have been showing off their culinary skills by concocting a ‘Very Berry’ Smoothie. The children eagerly measured and cut berries, adding a splash of yogurt and milk. These budding chefs, not only learnt about healthy eating, but also developed motor skills and teamwork.
Reception Visit the Urban Factory
On Tuesday morning the children in Reception headed to the Urban Factory to take part in a Gymnastics Festival. The children had a great time balancing on beams, learning how to do forward rolls, climbing and moving around on a variety of apparatus.
Reception Celebration of the Word
This morning the children performed a lovely Easter themed Celebration of the Word for their families. They spoke so beautifully about the true meaning of Easter and new life. Well done children, Mrs Hill and I are very proud of you.
Year 6 DT – Vegetable Curry
As part of our DT unit, we have looked at and evaluated the packaging of different curry sauces. We looked through the common ingredient lists of curry sauces and identified ingredients that can cause allergies. Year 6 OpenZone
The children visited the OpenZone at The Word to complete part of their ‘Programming and Sensing’ Unit. The children enjoyed their morning out and their behaviour was impeccable.
Boccia!
Our brilliant new Boccia squad were fantastic today in their first tournament! Three St. Bede’s squads played with a lot of skill and game intelligence in a high level competition. Mini Vinnies’ Coffee Morning at St Bede’s Church
The Mini Vinnies hosted a coffee morning today after Palm Sunday Mass. There was a Tombola stall, a delicious Cale Sale and the Mini Vinnies sold bookmarks they’d made as well as Stations of the Cross booklets in which they’d produced the beautiful artwork.
